The Beausejour Animal Hospital (BAH) is currently hiring a COMPANION ANIMAL VETERINARIAN to fill a PERMANENT FULL-TIME or PART-TIME position.

Located 25 minutes northeast of Winnipeg, BAH is a LARGE MIXED ANIMAL PRACTICE with a total of 12 veterinarians.

Being a rural practice gives us a wide range of medical and surgical cases that are not often seen in an urban setting. This also allows for the opportunity to tailor caseloads to areas of special interest.

What stands out:

  • FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE – We are focused on work life balance and offer THE MOST

flexible shifts - any type of shift is available.

  • NUMEROUS SUPPORT STAFF – BAH has numerous veterinary technicians to support

    veterinarians.

  • UPDATED EQUIPMENT – We recently expanded and renovated our facility, and are fully

equipped with an in house-lab, digital radiology, digital dental radiology, dentistry

    equipment, tonovet, ultrasounds, etc.

  • TOTAL COMPENSATION – Membership dues, health & dental benefits, vacation/sick/personal

days, a large CE allowance with paid days off, RRSP matching, a competitive annual salary,

bonus & a relocation allowance (if relocating).

  • MENTORSHIP & TRAINING – We offer extensive training & mentorship as we are a LARGE

MIXED ANIMAL PRACTICE with a total of 12 veterinarians. The clinic holds as many as eight vets

simultaneously so you will always have someone to collaborate with on cases. Many vets that

started their careers at BAH are still here and are now owners.

  • POSITIVE CLINIC CULTURE - BAH provides an extremely positive atmosphere and caring

support staff. Our number one goal is to provide an excellent and rewarding experience for all

patients and clients. We strive to offer the best practice medicine and surgery possible to our

    patients.

We believe that practicing veterinary medicine can be fun and exciting and we promote a positive and vibrant team to make that happen.

What is it like to work at Beausejour Animal Hospital?

Working at Beausejour Animal Hospital is an exciting and rewarding career! No two days are ever the same and we see a wide range of species and conditions.

Because we are a large clinic with many staff, we are able to develop our own special areas of interest. We have a full dental suite with digital xrays and our surgical suite is set up for both soft tissue and orthopedic procedures. We offer a full range of diagnostics with in-house IDEXX blood and urine analyzers as well as digital radiology and ultrasonography capabilities.

We are a team of passionate learners and encourage advancement in our own skills and knowledge! We often invite speakers to come and educate ourselves, as well as provide seminars for our producers to gain knowledge on current topics and issues.

The Beausejour and Lac du Bonnet areas are renowned for their recreational opportunities, and while we may perhaps be biased, we feel we are living in the best part of Manitoba! The short commute to Winnipeg will bring you to the amenities of city life, while the path from your back door leads to the beautiful Canadian Shield, with an abundance of lakes, hiking, snowmobile trails, and all manners of outdoor adventures. We encourage a good balance between work and home life, and are able to accommodate many different work schedules.

What are the best parts of working at BAH?

It’s hard to pick between the top three – our fellow staff members, our patients, or our clients! We are a close-knit team that not only cares about our patients and their families, but also very much about each other. We are passionate about supporting each other as we grow our skills and knowledge.

We provide mentorship and are always thrilled when we see professional growth in each other. We strive for excellence in our animal care and utilize every member of the team to reach our common goal. We also love that we see so many of our patients out enjoying a walk in the local park and that we get to see and visit with our clients while we are out being involved in the community.

Our sense of work “family” is very strong – we are grateful for the numerous staff members who have been with us for many years. We celebrate our milestone anniversaries and have had a number of valued employees reach the 15 and 20 year marks.
